I had my first Labrador in Sweden in 1977.  
Her name was Aroscas Funny Black Souvereign and she later became a Swedish Champion which in those days entailed being placed at a field trial as well as gaining your show merits. 

In 1985 I moved to England and married Richard who already was an established Labrador judge. Together we formed the Richbourne Kennel, very much based on Sandylands and Rocheby lines combined. In latter years we have worked closely with our dear friend Jan Roger Sauge, Mambrinos kennel in Norway, who has the same Labrador philosophy as us. 

Building our kennels with these strong lines we have a fantastic foundation of classical Labradors with fabulous temperaments and sound bodies. 

We have had the fortune of making up several Show Champions and International Champions as well as many more CC winners and Reserve CC winners and numerous Best of Breed winners. We have also exported numerous Labradors who have gained their titles in their new countries. We have owned all the three colours of the breed. 
I started judging in 1985 and have had the honour to judge Labradors all over the world. I have also judged most other gundog breeds at open show level as well as Gundog groups and Best in Show.  

Undoubtedly by biggest honour and greatest task as a judge was judging bitches at Crufts 2019. It still gives me goose bumps thinking back to the day. Other judging highlights are judging males at The Labrador Club of the Potomac and my favourite European show The Retriever Club of Luxemburg which is such a well organised show attracting quality exhibits. 

We were fortunate that our children are also passionate about dogs and our daughter Bonnie is now also a Championship show judge of Labradors and son Mark is making sure all the dogs are well cared for at home when we are off to shows. 

I was Field Trial secretary of The Yellow Labrador Club for some years before becoming the Honorary Secretary of the Club in 2001 a post I still hold today. 
I have also acted as secretary, treasurer and Chairman of The Labrador Breed Council,  
I am a trustee of Labrador Rescue South East and Central and a committee member of The Royal Windsor Championship Dog Show. 
I am also a proud member of The Royal Kennel Club. 

Knowing the breed from a breeder’s, competitor’s, a judge and an organisers point of view gives me a good insight to all aspects of our breed & I feel it a privilege to be able to give something back to our lovely breed which has already given me so very much.  

We have made lifelong friends from all over the world through our beloved breed and seen places we never would have had the opportunity to see otherwise.
